Calling all Trekkies, a new "Star Trek" movie has been announced! According to both of the June 18 reports from Entertainment Weekly and Deadline, the new "Star Trek" movie will have Chris Hemsworth back as George Kirk, the father of James T. Kirk.

The plot will have Captain Kirk cross paths with the father he never had a chance to meet, but whose legacy has haunted him since birth. This would mark the fourth movie since the 2009 reboot. Before the 2009 reboot, there were 10 "Star Trek" movies from both the Original Series and from "Star Trek: Next Generation."  Here's a complete list from both of them:

For the reboot series (so far):
  1. "Star Trek"

Anyway a director wasn't announced for the new project, but the script will be written by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. J.J. Abrams and Lindsey Weber of Bad Robot will be the producers and David Ellison and Dana Goldberg of Skydance will be executive producers.

This Friday (June 22, 2016), "Star Trek Beyond" will be released in theaters. Justin Lin had directed "Star Trek Beyond." Also no release date has been announced for the new movie either. What do you guys think of this "Star Trek" news? Share your thoughts in the comments!
