Two VMP films accepted to the 3rd Toronto World International Film Festival

VMP announced yesterday that two of the films from their Dostoyesky-LA Project, "Shades of Day"-Director's Cut and "Notes from the New World" will be featured at the 3rd Toronto World International Film Festival in Toronto, Sept. 23-29, 2016. Both films are part of the production company's ambitious Dostoyevsky-LA Project and will have their US Premieres later this year in New York and Los Angeles.
"Shades of Day" is a suspenseful Hollywood fable that is based on Fyodor Dostoyevsky's classic novella White Nights. The story is transported to modern-day Los Angeles. What is also interesting was it was shot on super 16 separately in black and white and color. April 19th, the rough cut of "Shades of Day"-Director's Cut had its world premiere at the 15th International Festival of Detective Films in Moscow, Russia. It won a special juried prize. That's just one of many festivals it's been at.
The film stars Camilla Bergstrom and Phillipe Bergeron, and was written, directed and Produced by VMP President Vitaly Sumin.
"Notes from the New World" is a contemporary retelling of Dostoyevsky's "Notes from the Underground." Like the first film, it takes place in Los Angeles. The film stars Rebecca Sigl, Natasha Blasick, and Nathanael Theisen. It was written, directed, and produced by Sumin.
Sumin was the one that created VM productions to develop and produce quality films based on original stories and masterpieces of world literature.
The World International Film Festival is a global industry event held around the year in the world's biggest cities. The World International Film Festival is dedicated to showcasing new and innovative films while fostering the next generation of filmmakers.
