The Macy's Day Parade celebrates its 90th Anniversary this Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving ( Nov. 24, 2016) will mark the 90th Macy's Day Parade. The first ever parade took place actually on Christmas in 1924. It's also interesting to note that the first ever parade had more than 250,000 people attend it. Nowadays it attracts more than 3.5 million people to the streets of New York City as well as over 50 million TV viewers! Felix the Cat was the first ever giant helium balloon to be at the parade.

This year the parade will on Nov 24, 2016 and starts at 9 a.m. EST. For those who can't be there can watch it on NBC at 9 a.m. EST too. So along with the balloons, floats, marching bands, Santa, expect to see Chloe and Halle, Brett Elderedge, Daya, De La Soul, Easton Corbin, Fritz and the Tantrums, Jacob Whitesides, the Muppets, Tony Bennett, and many more at the parade too!
