'The Simpsons' break TV record with two-season renewal

It was announced today (Nov. 4) from the Hollywood Reporter, that "The Simpsons" was just renewed for two more seasons, which would be 29 and 30. What this also means is that they broke a TV record. In other words with the renewal, "The Simpsons" will have broken the record of the most episodes of a scripted series ever.
The record is currently held by "Gunsmoke" with 635 episodes, but by the time "The Simpsons" end Season 30, they will have reached 669 episodes.
