The Sony Movie Channel has a lot to offer this December! Here are just a few highlights this December:
"Wild Things" Block-Dec. 1:
The Sony Movie Channel will be airing "Wild Things" at 10 p.m. EST. The iconic '90s thriller about a teacher (Matt Dillon) who is wrongfully accused of assaulting two students (Neve Campbell and Denise Richards). After that the second one,"Wild Things 2," with Isaiah Washington will be airing at 11:50 p.m. EST.
"Zorro"-Dec. 2
Antonio Banderas takes over SMC with the Zorro movies! "The Mask of Zorro"will be airing at 10 p.m. EST and "The Legend of Zorro" will be airing at 12:20 a.m. EST.
Network Premiere of "The Impossible"-Dec. 4
The Network Premiere of "The Impossible" will be airing at 7 p.m. EST. "The Impossible" is about a family who gets caught in the devastating 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. This is also actor Tom Holland's big screen debut.
Richard Pryor-Dec. 6
Richard Pryor fans will want to catch this two movie block! The first is "Richard Pryor: Live on the Sunset Strip" at 10 p.m. EST and then in his directorial debut with "Richard Pryor...Here and Now," which airs at 11:25 p.m. EST.
"The Ninth Gate"-Dec. 8
A rare book dealer (Johnny Depp)gets more than he bargains for when a collector (Frank Langella) hires him to track down a series of books that are believed to be written by the Devil. Roman Polanski directed this supernatural chiller! "The Ninth Gate" will be airing at 10 p.m. EST.
"Das Boots"-Dec. 10
Wolfgang Petersen directed this popular taut WWII drama about a captain of a German sub trying to stay afloat during the Battle of the Atlantic "Das Boots" will be airing at 7 p.m. EST.
"Escape from New York"-Dec. 16
John Carpenter's "Escape from New York" will be airing at 10 p.m. EST. This cult classic stars Kurt Russell as a rogue loner who must rescue the president (Donald Pleasance) from New York City (which has been turned into a maximum-security prison).
"A River Runs Through It"-Dec. 23
The Brad Pitt classic, "A River Runs Through It" will be airing two days before Christmas. Look for it at 7:50 p.m.
Christmas Day Westerns Block-Dec. 25
The Christmas Day Westerns Marathon, kicks off on Christmas Day at 8:10 a.m. EST. The day begins with a pair of adventures starring Audie Murphy in "The Quick Gun" and "The Guns of Fort Petticoat" at 9:40 a.m. EST Next, Sheriff Randolph Scott’s friendship with outlaw Glenn Ford lands them both in hot water in Charles Vidor’s "The Desperadoes" with Evelyn Keyes and Edgar Buchanan, at 11:05 a.m. EST; and Scott is back in action as a man whose past comes back to haunt him in "The Doolins of Oklahoma" with George Macready, at 12:35 p.m. EST. James Stewart stars as a cynical marshal whose mission to rescue Comanche captives does not go as planned in John Ford’s "Two Rode Together, with Richard Widmark and Shirley Jones, at 2:10 p.m. EST; followed by Tab Hunter as an unruly rancher in "Gunman's Walk" with Van Heflin, at 4 p.m. EST. The last one is Dana Andrews as a condemned man searching for a murderer in "The Hours to Kill", with Donna Reed, at 5:40 p.m. ET.
