Kino Lorber's Alive Mind Cinema label is proud to announce the nationwide release of "Golden Kingdom." It's the first international production to be filmed in Myanmar since the country's recent reopening.

So "Golden Kingdom" will be in New York City on Nov. 21 at the Village East Cinema (7 p.m.) and on Nov. 25, it will be at the Hollywood Theatre in Portland. The director Brian Perkins and executive producer Jessica Ballard are set for Q&As following both screenings!

If you can't make it to the screenings, today (Nov. 18) "Golden Kingdom" was just released on VOD. So you can check it out on iTunes, Amazon, and on the Alive Mind Cinema site.

The film is about four novice monks living in a Buddhist monastery in a remote part of Myanmar. It also features a cast of real-life apprentice monks (three of four young leads).
