"D-Love," Elena Beuca

Elena Beuca's directorial feature film debut, "D-Love" is beginning its theatrical run in on Dec. 8. It will be opening at the Laemmle 7 North Hollywood in Los Angeles for its week-long cinematic run.

"D-Love" has taken the festival circuit by storm, winning 10 consecutive Best Feature honors. It has won high honors at places like the Camel International Film Festival, Lone Star Film Festival, and the Kansas International Film Festival.

It's about a couple with longstanding martial issues who land at LAX after a failed getaway. Stefania has been unhappy in a job she detests, while Dan is still dealing with grief and hasn't worked in years. Their strain is amplified when a Danish vagabond asks for a ride and much to his wife's horror, Dan offers to bring the total stranger to their home. Over the course of three days, Stefania comes to discover that the desired change doesn't always come in the package that we want or expect.

"D-Love" is Beuca's semi-autobiographical film, that she also stars as the lead role as Stefania.  Her husband Dave Rogers ("Play On," "Siblings") stars alongside her. The film co-stars Ditlev Darmakaya and A Perfect Circle's Billy Howerdel, who composed the original musical score too.
