Interview with 'Afterburn/Aftershock' actress Caitlin Leahy

Recently the film "Afterburn/Aftershock" was released on the streaming site PassionFlix. Afterburn/Aftershock" is based on the romance novel by NY Times Bestselling Author Sylvia Day. It's about businesswoman Gia Rossi who is determined to be successful in her new job, but when her ex-lover Jax Rutledge waltzes back into her life, their passionate connection ignites not only in the boardroom but the bedroom too.
Anyway, I was lucky enough to interview Caitlin Leahy who plays Gia Rossi in the film. So here are her thoughts about her role, the film, and even upcoming projects:
1. First, what drew you to the role of Gia Rossi and to "Afterburn/Aftershock?”
There were many attributes of Gia's that I gravitated towards; her “passion", ambition, and devotion to her family. I knew I could have fun with the character and her strong New York Italian upbringing.
2. Did you use the book at all as a guide to get an even better understanding of your character?
Yes, I read the books after booking the role. We referenced the material often on set and tried to stay true to Sylvia’s description of the scenes.
3. Do you have a favorite scene between you and Tyler?
Working with Tyler was a joy. We shared a lot of laughs on set, but I have to admit the most thrilling scene was the “Kiss and Slap".
4. Since this is exclusively on PassionFlix, do you think that streaming has changed the landscape of how movies are first released?
Absolutely. Streaming services make it easier for films to reach a wider audience. It allows the viewers to enjoy films from the comfort of their homes.
5. Since "Afterburn/Aftershock" is based on the romance novel by Sylvia Day, I have to ask do you have a favorite romance novel or author?
Sylvia Day, of course! She came to set several times and makes a cameo in the film, as well.
6. Is there any other new project(s) that you would like to comment on?
I play the character of Delilah in the epic tale “Samson”. It is set to hit theaters on February 16th, 2018.
