Knock Down the House

On Feb. 5 the Sundance Institute announced that "Knock Down the House" was the winner of the Festival Favorite Award. The film was selected by audience votes from the 121 features that were screened at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival (Jan. 24-Feb. 3).

"Knock Down the House" follows four women political candidates from around the country- a young bartender in the Bronx, a coal miner’s daughter in West Virginia, a grieving mother in Nevada, and a registered nurse in Missouri during the 2018 mid-term elections. The four politicians not only took to the campaign trail but built a movement!

The documentary was directed and produced by Rachel Lears. Sarah Olson and Robin Blotnick also produced "Knock Down the House."

Runner-ups for the award included the documentaries "Dr. Ruth" and "The Biggest Little Farm."

The 2019 Sundance Film Festival Awards were announced on Feb. 2, which you can read the complete list of winners here.
