The Official Selection of the 71st Cannes Film Festival was announced today

The Official Selection of the 71st Cannes Film Festival
was announced today (April 12). The Cannes Film Festival will be taking place from May 8 to May 19. This year's President of the Jury is Cate Blanchett. The event will be opening with Asghar Farhadi's Spanish-language drama “Everybody Knows,” starring Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem.

The films that are in Competition include Jean-Luc Godard's "Le Livre D'Image," Eva Husson's "Girl's on the Sun," Alice Rohrwacher's "Lazzaro Felice," and Spike Lee's "BlackkKlansman."

Bi Gan's "Long Day's Journey Into Night," Vanessa Filho's "Angel Face," Valeria Golino's "Euphoria," and Gaya Jiji's "My Favorite Fabric" are among the Un Certain Regard section.

The Midnight Screenings section has only two films which are "Arctic" directed by Joe Penna and "Gongjak" (The Spy Gone North") directed by Yoon Jong-Bin. The Special Screening includes Wim Wenders' "Pope Francis-A Man of His World," Michel Toesca's "To the Four Winds," and Wang Bing's "Dead Souls."
