The miniseries 'Chernobyl' will start filming next year

The five-part miniseries "Chernobyl" will be filming in Lithuania in Spring 2018, according to the president of HBO Miniseries and CINEMAX Programming, Kary Antholis.
The miniseries will be produced by Sister Pictures and The Mighty Mint as an HBO/Sky Television co-production.This will be the first production of the drama partnership between HBO and Sky.
"Chernobyl" dramatizes the true story of one of the worst man-made catastrophes in history, and tells of the brave men and women who sacrificed to save Europe from unimaginable disaster. The miniseries was written by Craig Mazin and directed by Johan Rench.
Actor Jared Harris will be playing Valery Legasov, the Soviet scientist chosen by the Kremlin to investigate the accident. Harris is known for his many roles like in "The Crown," "Allied," "Lincoln," and "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." He has received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for "Mad Men."
