Calling all TV5MONDE USA viewers, two of the greatest actors of their time Catherine Deneuve and Gerard Depardieu will be taking over the channel in August. So here are some August highlights:
"The Pleasure" (1984)
Aug. 1 at 8 p.m. EST
Catherine Deneuve stars as Claire, a gorgeous Parisian woman who is secretly dating the French president. Problems begin to occur, once her purse containing an embarrassing latter from the president is stolen.
"Tour de France" (2016)
Aug. 6 at 8:30 p.m. EST
Gerard Depardieu stars as Serge Desmoulins, a failing artist who loses his driver's license and is persuaded into hiring Far'hook a young French rapper to be his chauffeur. While they come from different cultures and generations, they decide to tour all of the ports of France together hoping to fulfill Desmounlins' promise to his deceased wife to recreate the paintings of the 18th Century artist Claude Joseph Vernet.
"The Last Metro" (1980)
Aug. 8 at 8:25 p.m. EST
Both Catherine Deneuve and Gerard Depardieu star in the Truffaut classic, "The Last Metro." It's about an actress who marries a Jewish theater owner living in Paris during World War II. Problems begin to occur after Paris is taken over by Nazis.
"Nearest to Heaven" (2002)
Aug. 15 at 8:30 p.m. EST
Catherine Deneuve stars as Fanette, a beautiful woman who is weeping the loss of Philippe; the love of her life. She receives a mysterious letter from Philippe asking her to meet him atop the Empire State Building in New York City. Chas erupts when she meets Matt, a handsome photographer who is dying to get her attention. William Hurt and Emmanuelle Devos also star in "Nearest to Heaven."
"CHIC, CHIC! Paris: new wave"
