Breaking Glass Pictures announces the U.S. release of 'La Granja'

Earlier this week, Breaking Glass Pictures announced the U.S. release of the Puerto Rican film "La Granja." The director is Angel Manuel Soto. Known for his short films "22 Weeks," Frailty," and En la privacidad de mi hogar." The film opens in Los Angeles and San Diego on June 9 then on June 20 a VOD release.
"La Granja" was the winner of the Best First Film Award at the Guadalajara Film Festival and was nominated for Best Foreign Language at the UK National Film Academy. It had its world premiere at the Fantastic Fest and had a successful film festival run at Tribeca, Raindance, and the Miami Film Festival.
It's about a small sector of a Macondo-like island that is forgotten by the catastrophic effects of an economic depression and drug addiction. Three intersecting stories focus around the pursuit of happiness and its unanticipated consequences during the economic collapse of Puerto Rico. The stories are from a promising young boxer, a barren midwife, and a fat kid with a bike.
