Freeform renews 'Shadowhunters' for a third season

"Shadowhunters" fans don't have to fear because the show has been renewed for a third season according to the April 21 report from Deadline.  The news was announced by the cast of "Shadowhunters" on Facebook live too. The third season will air in 2018 on Freeform.

The stars of the show are Katherine McNamara, Dominic Sherwood, Alberto Rosende, Emeraude Toubia, Matthew Daddario, Isaiah Mustafa, and Harry Shum Jr.

The second half of season two is scheduled to premiere on June 5 at 8 p.m. EST. So while you wait for the third season, don't forget to finish the second! Also, you can catch up on the series from the start too, thanks to Freeform sharing all 23 episodes (so far).

"Shadowhunters" is based on the "Mortal Instruments" book series by Cassandra Clare. Before the TV series in 2016, there was a movie in 2013.
