Tyra Banks is the new host of 'America's Got Talent'

AGT/NBC

"America's Got Talent" has a new host according to the March 12 report from Deadline. It was "America's Got Talent" judge Howie Mandel who made the announcement via social media that Tyra Banks will be the new host.

As many remember that Tyra Banks hosted and executive produced "Top Model" for all its 22 cycles on UPN and the CW. Since it's revial on VH1, she still executive produces it. She also had her own syndicated talk show "The Tyra Banks Show" and had co-hosted "FabLife." That doesn't include her modeling and occassional acting history (remember "Life-Size" and "Coyote Ugly"?)!

Banks will be replacing Nick Cannon, who had hosted the show for eight seasons. The current judges on the NBC reality show are Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, Mel B, and Simon Cowell (he joined the show last season).

"AGT" is in its 12th season.
