The CEO of The Exchange announced today (Feb. 9) that Jai Courtney will be starting in the new movie, "Beef." Courtney will be joining Timothy Olyphant and Thomas Mann. Silver Lining Entertainment, Morrissey Managment, and UTA are representing Jai Courtney.
The Exchange had introduced Jeff Lock's script to international buyers at AFM'16 and will be selling the title at the upcoming 2017 European Film Market in Berlin (Feb. 7-17, 2017). The director of "Beef" is John Stalberg Jr. and it'll be produced by Tom McNulty from MC² Entertainment ("Date Night," "The Spectacular Now," "Table 19").
"The Beef" is about Jason (Mann), a general manager at a mid-western brand of Beefy's, a fast food restaurant. In hopes of escaping his bleak small town, he makes a $10,000 bet that was supposed to be a sure thing. Instead, he loses and it puts him the cross hairs of a comically brutal crime syndicate led by Brian Gil (Olyphant) and his second command Dipper (Courtney).
WME Global will be handling the domestic rights.
