Jimmy Kimmel will be hosting the 89th Academy Awards! This news is according to both his Twitter account and the Dec. 5 report from Variety.
Here's what Kimmel shared via his Twitter:
This is the first time he will be hosting the Academy Awards. Kimmel has hosted other award shows like this year's Emmys and the AMAs, which he has hosted for five times. So he's definitely an excellent choice. Last year's host was Chris Rock, which was another great host for the event.Yes, I am hosting the Oscars. This is not a prank. The 89th Academy Awards will be airing on ABC on Feb. 26 at 7p.m. EST. The event is taking place at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood.
