Here are the nominees for the 7th Annual Cinema Tropical Awards

Cinema Tropical shared the nominees for the 7th Annual Cinema Tropical Awards. The winners will be announced at a special reception at the New York Times Company headquarters in New York City on Jan. 13, 2017. The winning films will then be showcased as part of the Cinema Tropical Festival at the Museum of the Moving Image this winter.
The 2016 Jury members are Carlos Aguilar, Fabio Andrade, Ela Bittencourt, Eric Hynes, Toby Lee, Ruth Somalo, Michael Gibbons, Manuel Betancourt, and Cnythia Lopez.
So there are twenty-three films from eight countries that have been nominated. The event honors the best Latin American film production of the year in six different categories. Those categories include Best Feature Film, Best Documentary, Best Director, Fiction Film; Best Director, Documentary Film; Best First Film, and Best U.S. Latino Film.
All the films that are listed had a minimum of 60 minutes in length and premiered between April 1, 2015 and March 31, 2016.
