Sony Pictures Animation announced today (Oct. 10) that Emmy and Tony winner James Corden and Emmy Nominee Ilana Glazer will be joining the voice cast of "EMOJIMOVIE: EXPRESS YOURSELF." T.J. Miller was already previously announced.

The director of the project is Anthony Leondis and Michelle Ramio Kouyate is the producer of the animated Sony film. It will be released in theaters by Columbia Pictures on Aug. 11, 2017.

The President of Sony Pictures Animation had commented on today's announcement:
Over six billion emojis are texted every day, and emojis have become a universal language that transcends age and culture.  The power of emojis is that they allow you to express yourself in a fast and very fun way, and that is what our movie is about:  self expression.  We are very lucky to have some of the smartest and funniest actors today bringing their unique voices to this movie. So what's EMOJIMOVIE: EXPRESS YOURSELF  exactly about? There is a never-before-seen secret world inside your smartphone. Hidden within the messaging app is a place called Textopolis. Textopolis is a bustling city where all your favorite emojis live, hoping to be selected by the phone's user. Though there is Gene (the voice of T.J. Miller), who was born without a filter, which means he has no one facial expression. Well Gene wants to be normal, so he enlists the help of his handy best friend, Hi-5 (the voice of James Corden) and the notorious code breaker emoji, Jailbreaker (the voice of Ilana Glazer). They must also save their world before it's deleted forever!
