SITES WE LOVE: Le CiNeMa Club

Well your Sunday afternoon movie just got a little more exicted thanks to the site, Le CiNeMa Club. So what exactly is this club? Well every Sunday, Le CiNeMa Club presents a new film to watch for free. You have a week to watch it and each screening features background on the director and their other films.

The film that was picked for last Sunday (Aug. 7) was "Marquerite, Telle Qu'en Elle-Meme." The director of the film is Dominique Auvray.

So who is behind this project? The founder is Marie-Louise Khondji.  The mission is to showcase gems from indie cinema, works from new directors, rare films, and selected documentaries. The site is based out of New York and Paris.

There is also another selection called, "IN THE CINEMA CLUB OF," which invites directors and known cinephiles to share five films that they would feature in their own cinema clubs. Some of those who have been featured on the page are Wes Anderson, Isabelle Huppert, Louis Garrel, and Lea Seydoux.

This coming up Sunday (Aug. 14), the site will be showing "I Remember Nothing" and the director of that film is Zia Anger.
