getTV airing 'In the Heat of the Night' marathon for Labor Day

 getTV will be airing every two-hour episodes from "In the Heat of the Night" for Labor Day. The TV event takes place on Sept. 5 starting at 6 a.m. EST. The series starred Carroll O'Connor, Alan Autry, Howard E. Rollins Jr, and Carl Weathers. 

 The book was released in 1965 and the author was John Ball. Two years later, the film version was released and it starred Sidney Poitier and Rod Steiger. Anyway, the TV show lasted from 1988 to 1995, with a total of 8 seasons.

So the marathon includes the 1988 pilot, the episode "The Leftover Man," which Larry Hagman directed, "A Matter of Justice" with George C. Scott, and a Peter Fonda episode, "Give Me Your Life."
